3Canal with Dr. Kublalsingh.
Показать описание
The local Rapso group 3 Canal is dedicating their newest release 'The People,' to Dr Kublalsingh and the plight of the Highway Re-Route Movement. Written by members Wendell Manwarren, Roger Roberts and Stanton Kewley, and with a recurring refrain, 'the people want truth, rights, bread and justice,' the members also issued a public statement. They are calling on the Prime Minister to 'do the right thing,' to meet with Dr Kublalsingh or agree to conduct an independent review, and to act with humanity and compassion.
They adamantly believe that the country belongs to the people and they remind citizens that it does not belong to the Government or the State. According to Manwarren, "This is so much larger than the Re-Route Movement, this is about the examples we need to set. What examples do we want to set? We want truth as a precedent."
Kewley continues that "some people have to be held accountable, held to their word. We have to consider that this is what Dr Kublalsingh is doing. He is making a sacrifice for us all, and insisting that the Government keep their word and remain answerable for their actions."
Roberts affirms that 3 Canal has been working in Trinidad and Tobago as Rapso artists for the past 17 years, and that at this critical juncture, on the 15th day of Dr Kublalsingh's hunger strike, we need to ask ourselves the question, 'what do we believe in, what do we stand for, and what are our principles?
"Enough is Enough!" he continues, "you can't just pull out a piece of paper and say a proper study has been done, truth is fundamental to good governance anywhere in the world. Let good sense prevail"
The group is pleading for all citizens to wake up and unite, as a man's life hangs in the balance.
