Breezing Through Rome | Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Parkour Sequence

Yet another satisfying sequence i came up with recently. I'm pretty happy with how packed it is in terms of action density and enviromental opportunities, allowing for many differing types of interactions.

Hope you enjoy.

For the record, there might be a bit of a delay until i get to upload the next vid, as college started hitting hard lately. Regardless, i have so many more planned out runs to record and upload, but getting a perfect run takes a looong time, especially when im intentionally making it hard for myself lol

EDIT: In order to clarify how i pulled off that parkour down at 0:39, here's my explanation of it, taken from a reply thread below:

I actually found out about this bit of a mechanic while making the sequence! I needed a relatively fast way to descend that didn't include a beam drop, (as it would make Ezio grab the ledge on random occasions), before accidentally jumping on the lower beam simply using high profile + parkour. After a bit of experimenting i realized it's only about the directional input and your positioning.

Basically, the most consistent results happened when i was on one end of the top beam (the outer end in this case), and pointing his directional input toward the furthermost part of the lower beam (the side of the lower beam closest to the wall), and doing HP + Parkour as you would to get across normally.

Considering the fact this directional input angle has to be between the one that would make you hop across on the same level (forward) and the one that makes Ezio jump into the wall, it made me think that the reason he prioritizes the lower beam when given that input angle, could be due to a theoretical jump trajectory parabola, that the game might be using to calculate the next best jump candidate, matching better with the lower beam.

It also only seems possible to descend this way when the top and lower beam are far enough, but i actually was able to reproduce that same mechanic on the beam right before the one i do it with in the video (where the distance to the next beams is lower), albeit with a seemingly tighter valid angle (more experimentation needed). This also seems to work in line with my theory of possible jump landing "candidates" being chosen utilizing a baseline parabola, but that's just a theory of mine.

On top of that, while i was able to reproduce this on the two aforementioned positions, I haven't experimented with it in other locations yet, but want to do so in the future.

Beautiful. Some really advanced movement here, including some moves that really surprised me. The way you use ejects and catch ledge is fantastic

The variety of the different parkour downs were really really cool to see. With that those angle abuses. Absolutely beautiful stuff.

Simple yet precise. Less hiccups overall compared to later entries. Great video!

This is your best one yet. Some angles in this really surprised me. The different parkour down techs are used beautifully and made me subscribe. I really love your movement style.

I don’t see how people like Unity’s parkour more, this system was just as good, in my opinion better. It’s not “automated” as everyone says. Great parkour video by the way.

Great vid! Subbed! I liked your pathing. It’s quite different and non-linear from some of the stuff I’ve been watching lately. Nice use of fist drop and catch ledge, too! :D

I actually learned something with this vid, the half run-up side kick off a wall is way more useful than I could've imagined!

13 años de este juego, recuerdo cuando salio, fue un pionero en hacer que la estructura del mapa sea tu zona de juego, no habia otro juego donde moverse por el mapa juese tan divertido, fluido y original. Juegazo

Well, thus video made me realize how much more immersive rhe game can be without the hud displays. I'll have to turn them off for my next replay.
