Applications of bounded generation to Ulam stability

This talk is purely educational about a not-so-recent paper: M. Burger, N. Ozawa, A. Thom: „On Ulam stability“, Israel Journal of Mathematics volume 193, pages109–129 (2013). The paper contains an application of bounded generation to questions of Ulam stability i.e. uniform stability. Toward the end of the talk, I will make a few remarks relating uniform stability to questions arising from local stability.
