Sitar player of 20 years here. Playing that thing is no joke. Not only is that instrument heavy but the strings are fine AF. We don’t use picks for it. If you play like she did, you’ll definitely bleed from your fingers. My seven fingers have calluses due to constant cuts and bruises. But would it stop me playing it again?? NEVER!!!!

It has to be! Very, and i mean very few people in the world can play like that.
I saw Anushka's dad play in a small town called Poughkeepsie New York years ago. I literally walked through my brother's backyard on Vassar st and there he was. I payed about 10 dollars and sat in the front row. I didn't know of him or the sitar instrument at the time. When I read the bulletin i thought i was in for some Native America music.
That night i walked back home trying to process what i had witnessed. I knew i had withness something so profound. Ravi shankar you touched my heart brother.
Is one of those memories that impacted my life so deep (like 911) that i remember every single detail. My heart goes to Ravi and Anushka 🪶🕉️
