For everyone commenting that the locks cycled but wouldn't pair with the fob, the same thing happened to me four times before I opened up the fob to check things out. Everything looked fine, its brand new battery has a charge, so I closed it up and tried one more time and again the locks cycled but wouldn't pair with the fob. Then I thought "what if?" and tried a different combination of buttons to pair the fob and it worked by holding down the unlock and trunk buttons together for two seconds, and then the trunk for another two.

Turns out the manufacturer swapped the lock and trunk circuits on the circuit board, and I cannot simply rotate the circuit board because the battery makes it impossible to close the fob if it's in a rotated position. The exterior buttons are swappable but not the exact same shape so swapping them leaves a larger crack to allow in dirt and water.

In conclusion, I do have a functioning key fob, but I have to remember to press trunk to lock, and hold lock to open the trunk. (On my 2004 camry)

Thank you for posting this video! The Toyota dealer wanted $150 for a single key fob and $200 to program it! I ordered two from Amazon for $20. I called a local locksmith, who wanted to charge $300 to $400! I told my friend at work and he looked up a few videos. Your instructions worked on the first attempt for my 2002 Toyota Camry LE. Thank you for saving me some cash!

OMG!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I tried this step by step with your video and it worked. A local locksmith charged $200 for a key fob. So I bought 2 of them from Amazon for about $20 and followed your video step by step.

It only took 1 try and 2 minutes of your video. This saved me $400 or $500 dollars! Great video and thanks so much!

BRILLIANT!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I've had this unpaired fob for like 10 years and never could pair it! It's so great having a way to get in in case I lock my keys in the trunk!

You are AWESOME!! I am on a roll today. Your directions “worked like a charm!” Here as well! I am on a roll with my car. I fixed my low beam light, installed my new hood prop rod, and programmed my remote.

Awesome video. I replaced the battery in the key fob months ago and for some reason, the fob no longer worked. It's been frustrating to not be able to lock and unlock the doors. You just made my day-- your process works perfectly. Thank you!

PEOPLE WHO HAVE PROBLEM, READ THIS: I tried this many times but it did not work. I watched another video and found out why. The procedure in this video is correct except that turning the key two clicks towards the end of procedure is what is very confusing. The turning the key two clicks really means turning key to "On" position - not just two clicks. On my 2003 es300, if you turn on the key two clicks, it does not reach "On" position. This is why it did not work. So anyone who has problem. make sure to turn the key to "On" position when this video says to turn the key two clicks. It really does not matter how many clicks, just turn the key to "On" position. That is all. I hope this helps people who had difficulty. PS: I also found out that you can use same fob to open multiple Toyota cars if you use this procedure to program on those cars.
