Police escort Golden Arrow buses amid taxi strike

A full fleet of Golden Arrow buses has hit the road for the evening peak in Cape Town.
The busses are being escorted by law enforcers after vandals set two
vehicles alight this morning.

Several taxi commuters have had to make alternative arrangements to
get home this evening due to the Western Cape taxi shutdown.

About 15 000 taxi operators have parked their vans for two days this
week over government subsidies and impoundments.
