“UGG Made in Australia”is an actual brand fighting out the corporate giant “Ugg” - owned by Deckers. It’s double the price but currently on sale to help pay for legal fees.

Gotta appreciate Weston’s efforts when going all in on a video. From the Starbucks cup to the cardigan. Only thing missing was a “live, laugh, love” sign

Ugg Australia are in court fighting for the right to use the name ugg, which they have used since the 1970s. Their ugg boots are unsurpassed in quality and workmanship and are 100% Australian made. Support this amazing small business from going bankrupt.

Ugg has been stolen from a small Australian company, the real ugg are totally worth it!! We've been wearing them all our lives & love them 🤩

Maybe it's just me, but I have noticed a big difference in quality between my first pair of Ugg brand boots (tall ones, which I got as a gift over 25 years old that I still wear regularly) and the newer ones (a pair I bought about 5 years ago because I wanted a short pair and I only use around the house). The old ones were made in Australia. I spray them at the start of each winter so they don't get as stained. I changed the insoles once. The new ones aren't as.comfortable and the sole seemed to wear out a lot faster.

I’d love to see an Ugg alternative shootout.

UGG is a specific US brand of a generic type of Australian type boot. In Australia, the word is used as a catchall term for sheepskin boots lined with fleece that have been made since the 1930s. They were popularized by surfers in the 1960s. Anyone can sell ugg boots in Australia, and many Australian companies have trademarks that include the word. somehow it was allowed to be registered was registered as a brand in the United States in the 1980s owned by Deckers.

I would really love to see you campare these UGGs to the actual Australian ones make in Australia. They're also like $50 cheaper than these Decker ones.

I bought my pair of Uggs 25 years ago. They are a leather bottom boot with a sheepskin boot shaft that covers up to my calves. About two years ago the outsole began to separate from the boot. When I went shopping for a new pair, I couldn’t believe the difference in quality between my old boots and a new pair. I decided to have my local cobbler resole my boots. Honestly, I was shocked to learn that my Ugg boots had outer soles that were attached with glue. Bottom line, since my boot uppers we’re still in perfect shape, I had my local cobbler, Role Club, fabricated a new insole, midsole and Finished off with Goodyear welted Vibram outsoles. The cost was about the same as a new pair. But I am much happier than had I bought a new pair. I KNOW my Uggs will last me, AT LEAST, another 20 years.

My old Ugg boots 1990 made in Australia are still beautiful and far more ornate and fitted than those made today. They are wonderful. I wear them for a short period of time every winter...30 years of service!

At this point, Uggs aren't trendy, people just keep wearing them for their warmth and comfort, they don't care if they are in style or not. They've been wearing Uggs for a long time now. My daughter got her first pair in 2008 and they go back before that.

Yes!!!! Let's do this!!! One thing as a consumer I'm willing to do is pay a bit more if a company makes their products in the U.S. but if these Uggs are being made in China, you'd think they'd at least reinvest the savings into their quality. But it seems unnecessary if they're putting revenue over quality, since people will buy them anyway. Thank you so much. So interesting!!!!

as an australian it pains me every time i see people overseas wearing uggs outside. especially in snow or rain. they're way too fragile for that. we use australian made uggs as indoor house slippers in winter, they'll last forever.

As a fiber artist I can tell you wool is really underrated in modern society which is a shame. Manmade materials don’t come close.

Wool is also dirt repellent, so it’s easier to keep clean. The sweaters, socks, hats, etc that I knit are naturally water resistant, insulating, and require fewer washes than even cotton clothes do. Bonus: wool is easier on the environment, both to produce and to clean.

Man made materials just suck. Period.

I worked in a store that sold strictly Ugg products back in the early 80s. Back then they came from Australia & were only $50 for the tall ones. They were so much better back then!

My Ugg boots were made in Australia and have removable footbeds which can be removed for washing. I’ve had them for at least ten years and love them!! Worth the $$ I paid for them. ❤️

The Uggs you tested are the UGG brand, owned by the US company Deckers.

They are made in China, and are not the quality of the pre-aquisition Uggs - which were made in Australia.

Now if you want proper Australian made ugg boots, you have to buy them from everyone but UGG.

Disappointed in the fellow that decided to sell UGG to the Americans... they fucked it.

In Australia UGG boots are mostly home boots, a slipper alternative not designed to leave the house on a regular basis.
