Update: pureWash Pro X2 10 Months Later

It's been 10 months since we installed our pureWash Pro X2. No detergent, no washing machine smell, just fresh laundry and a feeling of eco-superiority. Recently our clothes started to smell a little funky and I'm happy to report it was about the easiest fix ever. Here's our update and instructions on changing the cartridge.

Had ours for about 5 years. Loved it until I woke up a couple days before Christmas last year. Woke up to take a puppy out at 4 am and heard some water dripping. I looked up and water was dripping thru my ceiling. Long story short 15k worth of damage. Lots of work drywall repairs along with crown mounding and hardwood floors! Be careful!!!

Be careful! Inner parts that should be stainless steel are inexplicably plastic. When (not if) it fails, it will flood your house. Happened to us TWICE and to my parents once. Just spend another $50 to get an all-stainless-steel O3 Waterworks. (Not affiliated with them in any way. Just trying to save others a flooded house.)

Have you done the hack to open the cartridge & reheat the pellets? How do you do that in a toaster oven?

Do you have any experience with poop and pee? Our household has heavy duty amounts lol 😂 would it take care of the odors and stains? Poop stains are extremely hard to get sometimes

My laundry room is large and conditioned. I installed a new cartridge mid Feb. and I have done 25 medium size loads. Cartridge color has already changed and I don't have that great smell, but no bad smell. I timed this cartridge because my last one didn't last very long. It isn't humidly so what do think the problem is?

Oops. We've had ours about 2 years, and I never changed the filter. I just checked it and it looks like yours, so I just ordered one. (I thought the indicator would get bright pink kind of like a pregnancy
test or something. )

One of the best things we ever bought. You can smell the oxygen as it is cleaning.

I love the pure wash but it was never intended to eliminate detergent... It's a supplement to reduce the amount of detergent required.. just like a pool ionizer will never eliminate the need for chlorine.

Disappointing that the system still has a consumable. What's the point? I'm either gonna spend $30-$60/yr on these filters or $30-60/yr on detergent.
