I met Beck in the parking lot of a grateful dead show in 1992 or 93 at Rosemont horizon he had an electric guitar and was standing on a car with an amp hooked to the car battery . He had some New age technology headset on that had words going across the screen

Beck didnt think that loser was gonna be a hit, he actually thought it was bad and wasn't gonna release it. The only reason he even realised it at all was because he was basically forced to by his recirs label.

It literally says all that just on the wikipedia page, and judging by the other comments it looks like a handful of other things in this 1 minute long video were just flat out wrong?

I'm obsessed with the connection. I never liked the song, but as always, songs are the soundtracks of what happens to be going on in one's life at the time.
The one whom produced it was REALLY fascinating to me. He did the album Forest For The Trees. STILL obsessed with that song. I heard this producer also had a nervous breakdown. I realized, from that, he's probably a genius. Anyway, he said he really didn't like the tone of Beck's album. The whole story is fascinating.

B.S. "Loser" was released as a single in March 1993 on 12" vinyl with only 500 copies pressed. Beck felt that "Loser" was mediocre, and only agreed to its release at Rothrock's insistence. "Loser" unexpectedly received radio airplay, starting in Los Angeles on a college radio station. Beck didn't like the song that much. He would change the lyrics when playing live so no one could sing along to it.

Beck didn't play the sitar on Loser. His friend and producer Carl Stephenson played the sitar parts on that recording. Its pretty easy to look up if you had done one second of research before making this short.

I still swear that I saw BECK outside of a BUTTHOLE SURFERS show wayyyy back ...he was walking around, dressed really crazy with a guitar and we were taking to him for a bit and asked "so are you in a band?" and kinda childlike he said "I'm in four bands" and about 2 - 3 years later when I saw him, I swear it was the same guy...then the guy (chris) from "EGG" (Presidents of the USA) said he had done stuff with the same guy ...before the net I was pen pals with EGG ...they were amazing from the beginning too

The crazy thing is, he was always a talented musician, it just took a hit for him to actually get attention.

Which means the world is absolutely packed with amazing musicians who never make it big. Just rocking out in their basement or on the street corner. Stop and listen, you might hear something good.
