Judd Reid grew up in Australia training under Shihan Eddie Emin, is the first, and one of only two, foreigners to have completed 1000 days live-in student training (Uchi Deshi) under Kyokushin Karate founder Masutatsu ‘Mas’ Oyama in Japan.
from 1990 to 1993, won the Australian heavyweight title in 2002, won the WKO World Championship in Thailand 2010, and became last-ever student of Sosai Oyama’s to finish the 100 man kumite, in 2011.
Judd Reid has left a lasting impact on the martial arts community. His determination, skill, and ability to overcome adversity have made him a respected figure in the world of Kyokushin karate

Sensei Judd was very humble and soft spoken. I remember him in Melbourne(Melbourne Kyukushin Karate at Banana Alley near Flinders St. Station) when he was younger, others feared entering the ring hearing his name. Small yet so powerful, knocking out fighters bigger than him effortlessly. Blitz magazines always repprt on his winnings.

0:05 I never trained in Kyokushin (just Shotokan) but is that he is supposed to execute those punches? He clearly sticks the elbow out. Aren't you supposed to keep the elbow down throughout the entire execution of the punch because that is what makes your punch stronger? Or is that how they teach those punches in Kyokushin?
