In the South too we have the same dish they ate in the first one (rice in water and yogurt). In Telugu we call it Sadhi Annam and Tamizh we call it Pazhaya Soru. We mostly eat it with a side of onion and green chili. Best thing for those scorching hot days. So cool to see the cultural similarities.

Dahi bara aloo dum is not a food, it's an experience. There's a certain parampara, pratishtha and anushashan to it.

You eat it on a leaf bowl with umpteeth refills of aloo dum (parampara), f/b a bowlful of "dahipani" to soothe your tummy (pratishtha) and lastly, a handful of Sev to cleanse your palate (anushashan)
