First Impressions Of Tbilisi (The ORIGINAL Georgia)

In today's episode, we take you on a journey through the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. It's a fascinating place in a very interesting "in-between" part of the world: the Caucasus mountains. Sandwiched between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, this region is not really counted as either Europe or Asia, and it's also culturally very different from most of the Middle East. In addition, the Caucasus is the second most linguistically diverse region in the world after Papua New Guinea, so there is loads to explore here!

We enjoyed the old town, the Soviet brutalist architecture, the delicious vegan food (including one of the most peculiar snacks we've ever tried, Churchkhela), and the beautiful views of the city from above!

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to drop out of university and live life full-time. Georgian tradition cuisine is heaven for vegan people, so sad you don't give a try to mushroom khinkali, so many bean dishes, walnut soups, eggplants or cheesey breads, and wine was born in Georgia.

Georgia has been on my bucket list for ages! (Which is also funny because I was born in Georgia the US State- and if you guys make it back state side I would be more than happy to how you around my hometown of Savannah! I know all the vegan restaurants there too ;) )

I visited Georgia in July of 2019. The country is truly amazing! It is a shame that their foods are not really vegan-friendly, as I think their cuisine is one of the best in terms of Eastern Europe. I know you guys are moving quick to reach the 100 country goal. Maybe after that, you can revisit Georgia and travel outside the capital city, as there are many beautiful sights in the "countryside", there's a coast city with beaches, and even a small town where you can do hikes on the Caucasus mountain ranges.
