A new Public Order Bill is being pushed by Home Secretary Priti Patel, who will warn MPs that "we do not develop policy by mob control."
Several elements from the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill were previously blocked by the House of Lords.
As part of these measures, the maximum punishment for the new offense of impeding important transportation networks is six months in jail, or an infinite fine or both.
As a criminal offense, tampering with critical national infrastructure (such as trains, highways, and printing presses) will be punishable by up to 12 months in jail or an infinite fine or both.
