Bobcat T66 500 hour complaints - In this video I go over my complaints about this Bobcat. Overall it's a great machine but I feel they could have done some things differently.

I have a T66 and I suffer the same issue you point out here. I will say the machine performs well and I love it!! Until I have to clean it….

I work at a bobcat dealer and we have nothing but harness issues w the R-series just this year we have done more then I can count on my hands. I also agree with you with the dirt build up I clean a lot of customer machines and 99% if the time there caked in dirt, id recommend investing in a pressure washer its a little messy but it gets the bulk out.

Thank you for the shout out! I have a video coming up on the new frame seal kit to help with the debris issue.

2:37 Have you had to replace the vertical hydraulic line where the cab is rubbing on it? About mid-way up the hose.

I cleaned my 2019 kubota svl75 out at around 410 hours and it wasn't nearly as bad, but it still had some dirt. Next time I clean it I'll have to take a look at how everything is routed.

My M-series bobcat T650 gets a lot of crap down in the belly too ... but not that bad. Might be better to just make some sort of perforated plate so that the dirt falls through ...or you can wash it through a bit easier. Love How I Did It channel. It's too bad how Bobcat Corporate didn't want him to make any more videos. An so begins the disposable machines with no resale. ASV or JCB is going to be my next machine. Maybe you could get some used conveyor belt (or old tire) to make some hose shields so that crap doesnt come in by the tracks.

The engineers obviously have not thought about this issue.

Don’t forget the power bobtach stem on the end of the pump vibrates and cracks. Pours all the hyro fluid into the undercarriage. Around 250ish to replace and 4 gal of hydraulic fluid to get going again. I’m on the 3rd one.

I have a t66 model and have the same issues. I just thought it was my machine always being so caked up under the cab. I dont like it, but it's a great machine for me.

My Takeuchi TL130 and my Newer TL8 both ended up with a lot of dirt and debris in the undercarriage as well but I like the way their tracks were underneath a fender seem to help a lot
Can’t wait to see the videos on the retaining wall

It makes all the sense in the world, they want these machines to break down so they could sell parts to you to fix them.

I agree the engineering should be better to seal the inside.. beings that I am a bobcat technician you should try to work on the machine when it’s full of mud and dirt, it’s very hard to do. The main harness shouldn’t be that close to the bottom of the frame. On the M series I don’t recall having issues with harness cause it’s higher up in the frame and away from the debris.

So it’s definitely not the best design however, a lot of CTL’s have the same issue. Bobcat sells a Frame seal Kit that goes around the bottom of the cab where it meets the frame. Definitely helps keep the underside clean. Why they didn’t just incorporate the seals is beyond me but there is a solution available. The R series loaders are great machines. They all have their pros and cons. Track loaders require a ton of maintenance due to the nature of the work environment.

BOBCAT HAS GONE DOWN THE TUBES. I'VE HAD THEM FOR 20 PLUS YEARS AND MY 2021 CTL IS FAR AND AWAY THE WORST YET

The previous models, M series I believe had a much better design. The setup for the hoses going to the drive motors and the sight glass for the hydraulic oil are ridiculous. Amazes me they even approved the design.

I understand bad design, but these machines are meant to be pressure washed after each use and that mud looks a little old in there. If you upkeep on the washes you won't have a problem. The removable plate speaks volumes on how it's meant to be cleaned, great job on cleaning her up tho

As a cat guy here. The underneath of cat machines get packed. But we wash ours out every time they come off rent.

I’ve run machines for years and finally able to buy a new t66 a few years ago. It’s been one problem after another. Now it needs 14k worth of pump and work done at 1500 hrs. I’ll never own another r unit

I don't ever recall my Bobcat having the much dirt....granted my bobcat had tires not tracks....that might be something that happens with tracks
