Atomic heart is a new video game in 2023, released on 21 feb by mundfish, its similar to bioshiock and system shock.

Hello, some of the clips in this video are not my gameplay, however the video is transformative and has been repurposed. The following reasons are why:

I have upscaled the clips and added post FX
The purpose of the video is to compare the clips of before and after the update, showing that the developers have fixed the bullet sponge that enemies used to have.

I'd rather take more damage the higher the difficulty goes. Increasing enemy health just makes things tedious and draining in my experience.

I'd say the biggest sponge was the ground. Most of those shots went there

Well I'm guessing that there is a big difference between normal and hard difficulty

I think the idea was that enemies become less spongy when you upgrade your weapons but i'm glad they payed attention to feedback and lowered health pools. Game feels much better this way and weapons actually feel good.

I mean if there is a single video game where it makes sense for the villains to be a bit bullet-spongey, a video game about the robot apocalypse is definitely it.
There was a similar complaint about Terminator Resistance, where even on the easier difficulties the terminators could take several clips of plasma ammo and still keep coming for you.

I have personally talked to one of the developers and they said that the health of the enemies depends on the difficulty.

Before it was at Russian difficulty. Now it is at world difficulty averaged out.

the whole time i thought since this was an RPG regular bullets had little effect on robots and electric/explosive weapons would be more beneficial. Suppose melee too depending on the weapon.

I noticed this in very early gameplay trailers, enemies in this game were all bullet sponges, but the another issue is they don't even flinch when you hit them, not matter with melee or bullets.

Bullet sponge isn't the answer, but neither is trivializing the combat. There has to be a middle ground.

I think the solution is to have enemies with different strengths and weaknesses. So to counter-act the sponge chose an appropriate weapon or ability. Turn it into a thinking man's game rather than hold left trigger mindless trash.

I love this game, but the combat feels so unsatisfying if your shotgun feels like a bb gun and basic enemies need multiple shots, while there is about as much ammo like in an old resident evil game.

I think i'm gonna spend most of my time in this game with the shotgun, AK 47 and PM pistol lol. I just prefer those more conventional weapons 😂

It makes more sense for them to tank bullets and melee hits, they are tons and tons of iron and steel, logically it makes sense... So I didn't had a problem with them being "bullet sponges" since it make sense

They need better particle effects when hitting things. It doesn't look like an impact...

The bullet sponge enemies wouldn't have been so bad if the weapons didn't feel like fucking water guns. And you saw pieces of armor or flesh fall off the enemies.

I mean it’s part of the difficulty hard to take more damage of the enemies and they take less damage of you
Just they shouldn’t overreact with this formula
