Cold Udon Noodles: 2 Summer Recipes.

Hi Neighbors! Today, we test out two cold udon recipes. These chilled udon recipes are quite popular in Japan during the summer times. I wanted to show you how you can easily turn packaged udon into one of these delicious summer bowls.

We will do one broth-based chilled noodle and a udon salad. The first udon recipes is from Chef Baek Jong Won. The second salad recipe is from a Naver blogger named Crydanbee3.

I try out both this time and see which one I prefer. Itadakimasu :)

Mmmm, that second one looks a lot like hiyashi chuka, which I love and is MEGA refreshing in this heat.

I ordered seaweed stuff from amazon. I live in the middle of nowhere so that is the only option I have. But it works so that is nice.

Omg cold udon is GENIUS. I love udon already because it's slippery and chewy and bouncy but this makes it even better to eat during the summer :)

Well, what can I say. Here, in Poland, you can pretty much get only dried nori that are labeled "FOR SUSHI". Besides that? Not much of a seaweed market in my industrial region! Then again, I tend to scout around in oriental shops and bazaars to get some interesting stuff. Definitely trying to check those recipes!

ALSO. Huge thanks. You once showed a trick of soaking meat in milk to deodorize and tenderize the meat... Dang, that's amazing! I'm doing it quite frequently when the chicken is of... questionable freshness from time to time. Love your positivity, pal!

Ur videos are so funny! I like how simple your recipes are because we are way too busy to cook our meal from literally scratch while holding down a FT job. I like how your video brings a very personal tough like a friend cooking and talking directly to me. Well done!!!

Dan-yul....Those noodles look delicious! To be honest I've never had cold noodles. I am an islander so we are use to hot soups to feel cooler...funny ah? I must definitely make this and give it a try. :)

There's a few Asian stores near where I live, so not too hard to find seaweed products these days

I love cold udon! It is 95 degrees 100% humidity and the dew point is 90 where I live. I have no udon!

Can you make a Korean BBQ video using meat substitutions for pork? Idk if that defeats the purpose but I'm interested to see if that works & if it'll taste the same/similar because I don't eat pork. Also! If you do happen to make that video, can you include what type of meat you use? I.e what part of the cow so I can request it from my butcher lol!

Fresh seaweed is unknown here in S. Spain...that said, they've just opened a new Asia/Africa mart, so I might be wrong! Gotta go check it out tomorrow. Here's hoping!!
