My daughters and I saw Skillet before the Covid shutdowns. My daughter, who lost her father to suicide, has lyrics on her arm from a Skillet song. John came over and took pictures of her arm and talked with her. Meant so much to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'm an atheist myself, and I love Skillet. They bring such positive, upbeat energy with their music, while still satiating my hunger for metal music. Metal music in general makes me happier, but Skillet songs always put a smile on my face directly.

Skillet is a band that takes the teaching of christ and allow everyone to understand if your not Christian and if you do understand then there songs are so much deeper.

I started my life resenting religion 😢
Nothing I heard could make me see the good, but my life took an extremely dark turn and I found myself at times crying for help from some one I never claimed to believe in.
This right here could have changed my life for the better or for the worse. Every single time I cried out to some higher being I didn’t believe in and told him I couldn’t take anymore. My life changed.
I went from a non believer to a full blown churchaholic 😂
Your music has more then inspired me it has given me guidelines to life I’m proud of. Thank you hod and thank you for your amazing band!!!

Skillet saved my life as a teen. The Last Night on the Comatose album was a promise. It was a promise for a better tomorrow if i could just bold on. And i did and God rewarded me with the perfect husband for me a month after graduation i was moved out of my abusive parents home and have been happily married for a decade now. "This is the last night youll spend alone, wrap you in my arms and i wont let go."

We used that as our first dance at our wedding. My depression song turned into our love story and i think that is so amazing. I wanted to hear that song for years. I was at every concert you came to wichita with. The ONLY time ive ever heard it live was the first tour after our wedding. I rushed out of the crowd and he qnd i danced like it was our wedding or the time he found me at 3am crying on the kitchen floor with this ong.

THANK YOU and i will never be able to thank you guys enough for how being open woth depression and mental health helped me hold on until i graduated school (2013).

I LOVE YOU! I Love that you're a Christian Band! I do have depression, anxiety, & suicidal thoughts. I have acted on thoughts multiple of times. Today it has been since 2015 that I have carved my arms & legs. That same year was the last time that I attempted suicide. Because of your music...especially, the song "Sick of It" has helped me out more ways than I thank you for. I still have those thoughts saying, I'm not good enough, I'll never measure up to my siblings standards or my parents or even God for that matter. I'm a Christian, I'm trying to good back to Church again. I've had such brokenness in my heart from family who tease me, a sister who called me fat. In fact, at 309lbs 10yrs ago, she asked me "where am I going to sit? If I'm not exercising, losing weight, where are going to sit. At that time I was really at my low. I count the years of missing my home in California. Wondering the what if's. Since that conversation, I have been able to keep off 35 pounds & hasn't even noticed. I have always been judge by this sibling by what I put in Mt mouth, how much I eat, etc. To this day we don't talk. When comes to friends...forget about it. They just use me & I always feel & think that God has brought them in my life so that I have people to hangout with. I live here in Alexandria, MN since 1999. I left my home state California on May 10, 1999 & have lived here since. I moved here not knowing anyone. My parents had a lake house that I could go to once in awhile while going to college here. It has been rough for me ever since. My parents live here now & I'm the only one out of the other 4 siblings that I have that helps them almost on a daily basis. That's why it is hard for me to go back to Church. I have a hard time trusting God again. I put up brick walls that keeps on being knocked down by users. I end up getting hurt all over again. I believe in Him & that He died & Rose again on the 3rd day. That He had conquered Satan & that He will come to judge the living & the dead. So, with all of said, me being friendless, husband less, or for that matter, even a boyfriend at the age of 54. How can I put my trust in Him? I even have a hard time reading the Bible because of my learning disabilities.
Thank you, SILLET for helping me on my sadness of time. I leave two of the only Skillet cd's in my car. Thank you & God Bless you. I never saw your concerts but the videos that you put out...must be amazing!
In Him,
Amanda Nelson

2 years ago I was dealing with suicidal depression and Skillet helped me through that dark path, eventually guiding me to Norse Paganism. I'm thankful I found their songs Monster and Hero when I was 20.

I’m a continued Christian, I came back to being one thanks to you and the band.

I’ve dealt with a lot of suicidal thoughts and depression near 3 years ago and further back, I was under influence of some bad drugs too.

Recently, last February, I had my Youngest Brother Committed Suicide, and still to this day it eats me alive…But I know for my brother, I’m gonna fight harder than I ever have. If it wasn’t for my brothers Passing tho, I probably still wouldn’t be praying to Jesus, but I have prayed to Jesus just near Everyday since the day my brother passed, and I’ll continue to pray, Every single day, until the day I meet my brother again

Thanks you guys for your music tho, you’ve made my life since comatose with such amazing music, and I was honored to serve you at Lifest here in Oshkosh my first Lifest 3 Lifest’s ago by Being a Yearly volunteer for Lifest every year now.

Hope to see you there again, and thank you for reading this if so, because your music helps me through so much, and i appreciate everything you guys do. Many prays and much love guys. ❤ 🙏

Amen my Brother…. I’ve struggled with serious depression for most of my adult life and one thing I know is that Jesus doesn’t leave us alone in the dark. We are “calling the the angels down, we’re storming the gates of hell….” The devil don’t own my soul!!! You are loved…

John, you just made me cry, your words are everything, because I feel that they came from your heart. I'm a Christian, I love your music and I think that even if I were atheist, muslim or any other, I would still love it and Skillet. I am so grateful that you were all born and you can share your music, thoughts and love with us.❤❤❤

I had a very bad experience in catholic school that turned me off of religion. But even so I’ve always felt welcomed by Skillet’s music because their music always feels like it could be about anyone. Jesus could be there for you or it could be a parent, sibling, friend, anyone you care about. It has always felt so inclusive to me
