2005 Cadillac STS front end rattle strut replacement

I replace the passenger front strut or coil over shock to fix a horrible rattle and safety issue on the 05 sts.

2005 Cadillac STS 4.6L v8 Northstar RWD 6-speed auto, similar to the CTS, SRX, and 3.6L v6 2005-2013 models.

How to the kyb stuts ride compared to how cadillac designed it to ride? Does it ride stiffer?

that nut that you had to put a key in to turn it mines isn't coming off can I just cut it off and replace it with another nut or it a special type of nut

40 dollars is cheap for what they did. Our shop would have charged 1.0 hours of labor and it would have been 130.00. it is dangerous to do that part of the job. that is why you took it somewhere.

You should ALWAYS change Both and not just one side. There is no reason to remove the lower yoke, use a spray penetrate, a hammer and gravity, and rent or borrow a coil spring compressor from your auto parts store.
