Teaching these rules can be tough, but it doesn't have to be! I have tons of resources made for parents to help your child at home with these skills.

The method of" what makes sense" is reliable when teaching a native speaker. For a second language learner, you will need fisrt to expose the learner to a lot of listening material before beginning to teach reading.

There is only one pronunciation rule in English: break all pronunciation rules!

It works for English speaking kids. Other kids who learn reading in English still have to memorize.

You actually give the examples to the "exemptions to every rule" BS I've always heard about but never knew. 💝Thank you! Big bear hugs from all the emoji bears. 🐻🐻‍❄️🐼🐨

It's the way he does the no for me. 😂 I love watching that video. It makes me laugh every time because that's how I felt teaching my son, and he looked just as confused, too, until I found your page. THANK YOU for all your videos. They help US learn a lot easier and I do mean me included. 😁

Oh, *PLEASE* keep on doing videos on those cases those videos point out! Especially if they can be long to explain *why* those sounds are different. I learned those words easily as teenager but, now, teaching my 5-yrs old to read, that dude brings my nightmares to life! 🥲

And it only works if it’s your mother tongue. The first sketch is about someone learning English.
