I loved when oversized clothing became a thing again because a lot of brands here started making their "slim" clothing actually slim and not just a slightly looser skinny fit, having to get slim stretch jeans is something I'd never go back to.

Also on the hybrid stuff, there was a couple "tech suits" advertised a while ago and one from here, every time I looked at those they never stooped looking like the cheap plastic suits some people wear for their graduations, and the fabric also felt as cheap as those.

One thing I will never do again that quite frankly I have not done since I was like 18. Is buying branded clothing that slaps their logo all over the place. Like Supreme, Gucci, Balenciaga (by far the worst). It looks trashy as hell to me, like someone went "I wasted a lot of money on this thing that cost 1/15th of what I paid to make". A tiny logo I will live with, but I prefer blanks of higher quality.

It’s really funny because all of these things, except for skinny jeans, I never liked them from the start. One addition I would make is cheap perfumes. I prefer saving up for a high-end perfume that is bold or subtle and reflects my style and attitude. It’s a bit ellitist to be honest.

Oh boy. The skinny fit jeans everyone wore 15 years ago... Lucky that I don't own one of those anymore. They weren't really comfortable and didn't fit my body type.

I agree with everything here and personally found the high-tech fabric blends to just feel worse after a few long years. The jacket I grew up in was always too big, but it was high quality at the time and was made using synthetics that held up the first decade well enough. Now that I am dressing myself it really dosnt work with anything I have and I keep it for sake of history alone.

I really look forward to the weekly James update with my sunday morning coffee. I have worn some regrettable items, mostly because I had to have something even if it didn't really fit me. Some of the sales people that call on us at work wear the hybrid dress shoes, and I shutter every time I see them.

Fake leather is a tricky one. You’re completely right that nowadays there are pretty damn good leather imitations out there. I’d argue that those are often a better investment than buying cheap (!) real leather, e.g. chrome tanned split leather.

The reason branding is not needed on quality pieces is that if you love a piece. You will talk about it to your friends. And the brand naturally grows.
