I keep struggling with finishing walls for ages and in a video before yours I learned guys make from $21 to $52 an hour in this trade. Now knowing how much money I am saving lessens my pain a lot

If paper tape had a front/back side, then the manufacturer would print it on the material. Such as other products where it says "this side out" or "back towards wall", etc. The crease is there for convenience for corners in order to get a superior finish. From experience of DIY repairs I find it works well either way. The amount of mud behind the tape is what counts.

First. Thank you for your service. I am a jaxk of trades for repairs to building spec homes.I hate taping. I usually hirw out drywalling or taping. I am rehabbing a first aid building for the Boy Scouts in Morris IL. I will be doimg all the taping and mudding. So money is tight. Your video was very helpful. Thank you.

Diy here- ive found mesh works great for large gaps or cracks. But ive also used it for repairs and it just takes the primer app and waiting to finish application next day.

Just took a load bearing wall down and the gaps after drywall placement worked really well. (Layers on layers)
I bought the wrong mud (finish) and was wondering why “hot mud” is the finishing while the patch mud is different. (My painter just said it just is)
My painter fixed the low/high points from the wall removed between the two rooms; and frankly thats why i pay him for his experience and application of craft.

Mic sounds good- and info on point. Thx kilt and keep em coming

I've been using paper and even though there are pitfalls, the results have been good. Mesh is wonderful, but not for corners, this Fiba Fuse had me crying like a baby! Pushing it into the mud would contaminate the mud with fibers from the tape to the point I had to just scrape the excess off into the trash can, rather than back into the tray. Don't think I've cussed so much since my Coast Guard days. Unfortunately, I was using a new knife that I hadn't yet sanded the sharp edges of the blade down, causing too much scraping action on the tape. I'm hesitant to continue using it but I do appreciate the mud saturation avoiding air bubbles. Thanks for posting this!

I found your video very helpful as I have recently found out about fibafuse tape. Oddly, my local DIY stores (I am in UK) don't sell fibafuse (just paper and fiber mesh) but I managed to get some from Ebay. I shall be attempting to use it soon and now I feel far more confident with your excellent tuition, so thanks again.

Great video as usual! We use FIbaFuse on occasion and do like it in certain situations. I was taping a ceiling in a darkened room and using work lights. As I was taping a joint, I noticed that there was a ton of fiber particles falling into the air and floating around. It was enough to scare me into never using the stuff without a mask on. Quick Tip: to keep the FibaFuse from unrolling after use, stick a heavy staple (or something similar) into the end of the tape to hold in place. Just push straight into the roll. Thanks again for all the great content!

I use fubafuse for flat joints, paper for inside corners and perfect 90 for damaged inside corners

One more advantage of fibafuse is that when you sand down to much it will not show signs of torn paper which you have to redo all over with mud

I learned the hard way that the fibafuse tape does not work in corners. Like you said, it won't easily bend and wants to flix back to flat. And 2, your knife will easily cut the tape and you may not notice it happen until its dry and too late. With it embedded throughout the tape, it won't come off. I had to redo all the corners with paper on top of the fibafuse. IMO, there should be a red warning on the tape, "not for corners". However, I think it's great for the flats.
