I just lost my brother not 72 hrs ago I've been liying to my self that it was a bad dream then I listened to our favorite song and it hit me e ton of that he's really gone but it also makes me feel better thinking he's finally over his rainbow and it's not so bad I'll see him again soon thank you all for keeping his music alive it really heals and brings peace in this world of sadness 😂

My brother passed away on October 4 (at age 74). We played this on my phone as he was transitioning and his 13 year old daughter played it with a very emotional power point at his funeral. It was one of his favorite songs and I will always think of him when I hear the song. He was my hero.

My husband and i honeymooned on Maui for 3 wonderful weeks in 2001. We fell in love with the music of IZ. Two years after we married, my dear, dear husband passed away. This was one of the songs i had played at his services. Everyone was in tears - this man's beautiful voice and the sorrow of losing Miles. Both are forever in my heart.

When I was 5 I loved this song. I listened to it on loop to fall asleep. When I think about it this song has been with me ever since then. I've been in a mental ward and I sang this song by myself to calm myself. Then when I was 17 I got accused of a crime I never committed. Through my struggles I always wished I could just fly away. That was until I lost 7 of my friends to suicide and 1 to an accident. I realized life will probably take me too. But I will never stop fighting back and getting up again and again.

I just found out that a close friend of mine died recently.

I remember the first time I met Bubba. He was about 30 feet from me leaning on the same chain-link fence surrounding the football practice field both of our young sons were on. He saw me looking his way, walked over to me, and said “You look lonely”. Thankful that this conversation was not taking place in jail, I saw the crazy humor in his eyes, and we both burst out laughing.

Bubba was a big man, a very big man.  And he had an even bigger heart. He had few friends that I knew of, and he welcomed me into his life where he became the brother I had lost so many years ago. 

Like me, he, too, was in a state of perpetual mourning. But Bubba kept his pain hidden and to himself. Like most men, he suffered alone in silence. He had several  children; most of whom I got to know. But his heart was forever broken when one of them, his daughter, had passed away at an early age.

He moved his family from Hawaii to Seattle many years ago in search of a better life. They all lived together in an apartment just across from the supermarket where he worked nights to help support his family that he  loved so dearly.

I would often go there just to say hi, especially whenever I felt down. He always greeted me with a huge smile and an even bigger hug that  could have easily crushed me. No matter how bad I felt before seeing him, even on the coldest and rainiest Seattle night, I would leave his majestic presence seemingly healed of my troubles,   with a heart no longer in need of warmth.

I love you, Bubba. Your memory will always live in my heart for as long as I walk this Earth. ♥️ 😢 😭
