From Thursday, testing for both COVID-19 as well as the seasonal flu will be covered by public health insurance.
This comes after health officials approved a new type of test designed to detect both the coronavirus and seasonal flu from the same sample within six hours.
The test can cost around 80 U.S. dollars but it's expected to be cheaper with extra funding from the government combined with insurance coverage.
Previously, only tests for influenza during flu season was covered by the national health insurance scheme.
