★ Explanation:
LET GO
Move your little self on: this is one of my favorite unreleased songs from this era. I find it so inspirational and it fits the album really well. I think it could be fit into the standard edition of the album
Let go: in my opinion, and as much as I love Naked, this song would be the perfect album closer, not only because of being the title track, but also because of its general vibe. I’m surprised Avril didn’t include it in the 20th anniversary re-release instead of Make Up
UNDER MY SKIN
Daydream: this song is amazingly fun, catchy and “Avril Lavigne”. I understand why they didn’t find room for it in the standard version of the album, but it definitely deserved a place next to I Always Get What I Want in the deluxe version because it sonically matches the album so well
THE BEST DAMN THING
GOODBYE LULLABY
Won’t let you go: I’m pretty sure this song was written for The Best Damn Thing, but I understand there wasn’t more room for ballads in that album. In this one, however… it simply would fit so well! I wish she had recycled the song into this era, as I love it so much and I think would be a great addition to the album
AVRIL LAVIGNE
Half-full: while I think this song was written for GOODBYE LULLABY, I think it would fit Avril Lavigne better (as a deluxe track). It’s just a demo and it needs work, but I think it’s catchy, fun and it fits the theme of the album
HEAD ABOVE WATER
In Touch: I think this would’ve been a good addition to a deluxe version of the album, as it’s basically the sequel to Souvenir. It’s so summer-y and well done, definitely too good to go to waste
Break it so good: I really like this song (the version that features Lauren Chrissy) and think it would’ve been a fun addition to the album to spice it up a little. It has the darker vibe that matches songs like Birdie and I Fell In Love With The Devil, so it wouldn’t come out of nowhere
Bright: this song is amazing and such a good step out of Avril’s comfort zone. I wish it had been released on the standard edition of the album, as it fits the theme a lot more than many of the songs that did get included
Lights out: this song would definitely have been a fan favorite had been released on the standard edition of the album like it deserved. It’s beautiful, inspirational and it showcases Avril’s vocals, which is what this album is all about
LOVE SUX
Too fast to live and Eternally: there are a lot of (great) unreleased songs from this era, but these two are my favorite. They’re just so fun and upbeat, definitely a breath of fresh air from the angriness of the album. This album is so short, I wish she had included these two in the standard version
