Study abroad is getting more expensive. So, choose your universities carefully - pick high ROI programs but how? 🎓

Here’s my advice:

1️⃣First, look at the job prospects and target salaries.

Comp Science, Data Science, Investment Banking folks will get 100K+ salaries whereas Human Resources student might struggle to find work visa sponsorship itself. Choose a major where most people get jobs and salaries are high.
If its a Top 20 university, chances are that you will land a good job relatively easily. So, if you can afford it, go for better ranked school.

2️⃣Then, look for lower costs.

Texas, SUNY universities are generally cheaper. In general, public universities are cheaper than private ones.
But, dont go by tuition alone. If you think you can get funding (Research or Teaching assistantship) in an expensive university, it might come out cheaper than others. For eg. UIUC, Virginia Tech, UC San Diego etc are aid friendly. Once you get a RA, you might not have to pay anything :)

3️⃣Lastly, look for great location because it makes job hunt much easier.

Stonybrook is a train ride away from NYC and many Wall Street banks & companies in Manhattan hire from Stonybrook. ASU is in middle of nowhere. Location matters.

ROI is important and this is something I cover more in detail in our MS Application Planning and University Selection Masterclass. I am re-conducting it LIVE on:
