The latest webinar in the series features Markus Weingarth, author and lead on the spectacular new paper "Teixobactin kills bacteria by a two-pronged attack on the cell envelope" (Shukla et al, 2022). Markus is also the recent winner of the ICMRBS Founders Medal. The webinar will take place 11:00 - 12:00 CEST.

Moderator: Rolf Boelens
Speaker: Markus Weingarth, Associate Professor at Bijvoet Centre
Abstract: The group of Markus Weingarth studies the mode of action of membrane-active antibiotics on several length scales (micrometre to angstrom) using solid-state NMR as core technique. This talk will focus on the recent discovery of the supramolecular killing mechanism of the antibiotic teixobactin (Shukla et al., Nature, 2022).
