*Ouranos Island Side Stories (Sonic and Sage)*

*_Sonic:_* You were created by Eggman, right?
*_Sage:_* Correct. My base code was compiled by him. The scope of my capabilities was vastly modified once I integrated with Cyber Space, but he is my creator.
*_Sonic:_* Heh heh, oh man. I bet he never expected his genius A.I. would advise him to work with me.
*_Sage:_* I put forward the scenario with the highest likelihood for survival. That is all.

*_Sage:_* I had secured Dr. Eggman in Cyber Space to protect him from the impending destruction. I had hoped to keep out external variables as well. You were not meant to come here.
*_Sonic:_* Yeah, I figured that out. I understand now why you locked my friends in the Cyber Cages and fought me. I wasn't exactly gonna leave the Titans alone, either. It's too late for an "I'm sorry" from either of us. Better to focus on making things right.

*_Sonic:_* Yo, so did Cyber Space actually interact with my brain?
*_Sage:_* It was designed to catalogue neural networks, among other things, so yes.
*_Sonic:_* Alright, hear me out: do you think all those locations I visited were pulled from my memories?
*_Sage:_* That is plausible. It imported the data of your memories and applied it to your surroundings, so you could comprehend them.
*_Sonic:_* Maybe that gave me the edge I needed to escape each time? I was covering familiar ground? Ha! Go, me!

*_Sonic:_* So, we've got satellite maps today, but I don't think they can compete with direct brain downloads. I can roll with it now that I know that it's alien tech, but it's still a bit weird to me. Like why are the villages missing when everything else is so detailed?
*_Sage:_* The Ancients had a difficult time adapting to this world. Adjusting to the new flora and fauna, dealing with technological incompatibilities... Their settlements were under constant revision. The map was designed for a universal knowledge of the islands and their facilities.
*_Sonic:_* I guess that makes sense. And it's probably a good idea to limit the info to make sure whoever can access it can be trusted first.

*_Sonic:_* If I understood those visions correctly, the Ancients came from space, right? And they were wearing things that looked like the Koco, but they didn't seem... I dunno, "alive"? Do you know what the Koco really are?
*_Sage:_* They originated as lucky charms for the Ancients. They were never designed to contain their data... their wills.
*_Sonic:_* Yeah, but the Koco I found do hold the memories of their creators. Maybe the Ancients changed them. Or maybe the Koco wanted to keep their memories alive after they were gone.

*_Sage:_* The Ancients came to this world tens of thousands of years ago. The planet was still underdeveloped back then, and their technology was vastly superior to anything else at the time.
*_Sonic:_* I knew it felt different at the time, but the fact that it was really alien was surprising. The floating building, giant structures, Cyber Space... it didn't make sense that such advanced stuff was also super old. But it all came from space, so... there you go, I guess.
*_Sage:_* What would this world look like if the Ancients had survived, I wonder? Under different circumstances, I would enjoy running the simulations.

*_Sage:_* Once the Ancients landed on this world, they cultivated the islands to be their new home. This place in particular was meant for prayer and reflection. They hoped to live in peace. When they learned their enemy had followed them here, they prepared to defend this world. The walls, cannons, towers - all for a desperate last stand.
*_Sonic:_* That explains all the stuff I've seen on the run. I wondered if they were preparing for a fight. Now I know.
*_Sage:_* This is where the Ancients would gather to simply be together. To cherish those who were left. That is why they recorded everything. Their history, their aspirations, their hopes, their dreams... so they were never truly gone.

*_Sonic:_* Looks like Tails was right. The ruins were tech the Ancients used to upload thoughts into Cyber Space, but not their bodies.
*_Sage:_* Correct. They desired to archive all their achievements, creations, and knowledge.
*_Sonic:_* If they couldn't pass it between their own people, they could pass it on to those who inherited this world from them.
*_Sage:_* This way, they could pass on not only technical knowledge, but their cognizance and intentions as well.
*_Sonic:_* So, it's basically a big ol' back-up hard drive for everything about them. That's pretty amazing.

*_Sonic:_* I'm so used to using the Chaos Emeralds, it's kinda hard to accept they're from space.
*_Sage:_* Yes. They were central to the Ancients' power and native to their world. They are the only things that can awaken all the functions on the island and were taken away with the last survivors to another land.
*_Sonic:_* Without the emeralds' power, the islands' functions eventually shut down.
*_Sage:_* That is why I drew them here. I hoped to use the Ancients' technology to stop the emergence of their old foe.

*_Sonic:_* You can't just... take control of that last Titan, can you?
*_Sage:_* I have made multiple attempts, but all failed.
*_Sonic:_* And this is the last one, right? I don't want any more surprises.
*_Sage:_* I can confirm only four were constructed.
*_Sonic:_* Then let's do it to it. We're out of time. We've got to save everyone, everywhere!

This is so chilling... It really gives a sense of finality. And it deserved an island with a unique byome, or at least a unique season (there's a really small island with an autumn-like look. Why didn't they just make the whole island like that?)

This song is one of finality. It highlights that you, the player witnessing the story through Sonic's eyes, have reached the emotional climax of the woes of this civilization. You saw them bask in their aspirations in Kronos, steel their resolve in Ares, obtained context behind their conflict in Rhea, and now, you see shades of the ultimate fate, scatterered about all over Ouranous, their final resting place.

Interestingly, Ouranous is the foremost primordial entity in Greek mythology. He is effectively the father of all things, his primary children being the Titans when he wedded Gaia, the Earth. A poetic allegory can be drawn here, Ouranos Island is where the travelers from the sky descended upon the ground and spread out among the other islands, who would go on to create the Titans that Sonic fights.

I never thought that a Sonic game would have music like this.

This beautiful music exudes pure hope, much-needed after the grueling platforming of Rhea and the agony of the corruption. At certain points it sounds almost as if the Ancients themselves are singing to you, telling you to push on, to bring them the justice they deserve, reminding you that this is it, the finish line is near, and only a few more Chaos Emeralds lie between you and the final battle, which you shall face with vigor and a head held high.

Too bad it goes right back to the so-called Theme of Starfall Islands almost immediately…

I don’t know why but when I was replying sonic frontiers and I got to Ouranos island and I heard this music I just stood there and for some reason I got really emotional and I started to cry even though I’ve already played the game and heard this music before.

Man the part that starts at 1:37 just fills me with such a calm euphoric feeling. I actually used to listen to the song on repeat whenever I was just chilling on my balcony, watching the city below me and the vast mountain ranges in the distance, one of the few times I actually felt calm in this chaotic world.

The build up at the beginning and then how it just all comes together and flows! I know the final islands could of been better but the music never had to have anything disliked about it at all. Doesn't this just one just give you a feeling of empowerment and insperation! Ouranos Island is truly a one of a kind beautiful BGM. Gotta love it! (^.^)

I love this song, it feels like Ouranos is the calm after the storm (I mean, the previous Islands)

I love how melancholy and chilling the Island's music is since it had that "we still have time to save the world from devastation" vibes

I'm replaying the whole game in hard mode before the update and this hits hard

This song will play in an ENTIRELY different context on September 28th, I know it.

Edit: Post Update 3 me here...

I guess I was right? I mean, there's a REMIX of the song now, and it does play during a different story. But now this original song remains exclusive to the game's original ending. So... cool?
