It's pretty impressive that RCE has come so far on that difficulty, considering he is such an architect in video games, especially in Timberborners.

It is so INFURITATING that matt has STILL not increased the width of the last dam and is STILL losing water to the edge of the map eventhough that was pointed out out in the FIRST episode's comments

Beavers: RCE, benevolent creator, we're dying! Save us!

RCE: ... have you considered shaving? You can take the clippers with you on your treks around the colony. Or better yet! On an airplane!

Beavers: Thirst! Hunger!

RCE: And it fits perfectly in your ha--paws. *satisfied smile*

Beavers: o.O

Hey Matt just an idea to help get a bit more water right before a drought. If you replace your lower 1x1 dams with floodgates then you can close the gates like a few hours before the dry season to fill up the rivers to full.

I’ve noticed that the dams only fill the rivers about half way or so before they spill over and drain.

This would help start with much more water in the middle section that keeps your crops alive.

Hope this helps and I’ve honestly loved this entire series! Keep up the great work.

As someone who bought Timberborn solely because of this channel, coming back to watch these Timberborner episodes while knowing how the game works...

Well, Matt's lucky he's entertaining.

You can use a mechanical water pump to get water from one side of a dam to the other. If you design your dam properly it can be very deep and you can just have 1 set of flood gates that automatically get refilled from a deeper reservoir.

In your case you'll probably have to manually manage it, but that's not as big a deal for iron teeth since you have to use an engine to pump anyway.

Anyone else looking forward to matt making an absolute mess of the badwater in update 5? 😂

The creator/editor relationship on this channel is definitely a highlight 🤣

Classic Matt: Explains why his soybeans died, instantly repeats the same action so the newly planted soybeans die again 😂

ugh seeing RCE not raise those flood gates before the drought killed me.

2:14 RCE is a typical manager - when management screws up and nearly kills the beaver colony, blame the workers!

18:35 The fact that RCE had a psychopomp while all of his beavers were dying and he didn't even realise what that meant is a delicious irony.

you should probably make an extra water reservoir at the top of the water fall, you could easily get a 3 high dam release there for extra emergency water, even just a quick built 1-2 high dam would help give you extra water stores in long droughts

Taking wagers on how many more episodes will pass before RCE builds more water tanks closer to where the beavers work

I love how Matt is distracted from building an algae skyscraper into not killing 8 beavers through 9 episodes lolol

Great series, keep it up, WATCH YOUR WATER LEVELS

Please make sure to make a few breeding pods and keep them at 99% progress, so if everyone else expires, then you can resume then when the drought is over, and have some population to recover with. Edit: Each beaver uses 3 water a day, on normal working hours. So at 13:30, your water usage was 12 beavers * 3 water a day = 36 water a day for the colony. That is enough for 2.3 days. Edit2: Also, please start using the water dump with a 1x1 footprint 2-3 blocks tall hole (hole in the ground or, more easily, levees around it), to store water. If you're using mods, you can also use the mod with the thing measuring the water level and having it automatically pause the water dump when it's at half a block from being full and unpause the water dump at half a block from being empty (or, for the 1-block-tall version, when it is empty). Edit4: Also, it might be worth disconnecting the water storage, to let a few beavers expire, after which you connect it again to let the other beavers survive. Edit5: Man, those people expiring of old age surely did save the rest of the beavers in your colony.

I’m excited for you to play the newest update of this! Never let Timberborners series end!

I like the detail that the beavers don’t start fires during the dry season when it would be dangerous.

I will never understand why Matt insists on pumping dry that last piece of river.

Welcome back tp Timberborners. You don't need more people in order to survive, but in order to improve and expand.
