Anthony Joshua's loss to Daniel Dubois sent shockwaves through the world of boxing - but why? This is what happens to him every couple of years. For good reason too. That reason being, of course, the fact that he was never the great fighter he was being made out to be. In this video - I will explain why.

This video emphasizes the whole problem with boxing: the fact that if someone loses it is not that the other boxer is better, but that the one who lost suddenly sucks.

People switch up so fast in this sport man it's crazy
Suddenly, Joshua was never great and it feels like in boxing, you are nowadays instantly trash if you lose

AJ started boxing at 18. He started way behind virtually every other elite-level boxer. Still: He won the HW championship twice, and defended his belt seven times. He bested undefeated opponents like Whyte, Martin, Brezeale, and Parker.

If anything, the dude's an overachiever. He stretched the limits of his capabilities considering where he started. He's not in the top 20 heavyweights of all time--but the fact he was able to accomplish what he did is absolutely astronomical.

I always thought it was stupid for Fury to mock Usik for being a middleweight and small because if he beats you, which he did, it makes you look bad for losing to a man who is smaller and supposedly not truly in your weight class. Should've hyped him up, then losing to him wouldn't have looked as bad

No the perfect record era is the problem. I agree he wasnt all that but the post MAyweather hand picking is the problem with fights and matchmaking.

Man I couldn’t imagine being a modern day boxer. To have such a fickle fan base that 1 or a couple losses can completely overshadow everything great you’ve ever accomplished. The switch up is mad wild bruh

Big George would probably have bullied and wiped the floor our modern behemoths.

The funniest was AJ suddenly becoming a mainstream darling again after he KO'ed an amateur boxer on his second fight ever. Thankfully, that didn't last long.

These heavyweights nowadays always put emphasis on size and power instead of skills.

Man held all the belts besides the WBC belt, what are you saying he was never great? Man arguably has a better resume than Fury does

90s was a golden age for heavyweight boxing too. So many classic matches during that decade

Bro I love your vids but this is simply not true. Do your research he has beaten more champions than any current heavyweight, and has a better resume than every other heavyweight with usyk as the exception. Also winning gold against zhilei Zhang and beating Joseph Parker, Otto wallin, povetkin, and other elite level fighters. I think that people need to stop saying a fighter was never great after one dramatic loss. I’m still a fan though keep up the good work Greg!

That's why I prefer MMA, defeats are not taken so seriously, they are more like learning, while boxing fans love an undefeated fighter and when he loses he is old and a fraud. That's why there are so many people With fights set up to increase wins without risk because they know that as soon as they lose the fans will turn their backs on them.

What? AJ has the best resume of any current HW except for Usyk, who mostly fought in a Cruiserweight division considered to be the best of all time.

Wilder should have been the target of his video not AJ

Dude, nobody gets the belts without being great, and having the heart of a champion. Everyone loses eventually. It happens, and that's what makeß boxing such a wonderful sport. Because you get to watch a champion get pushed to the edge, and sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses ... But it's the struggle that makes him great. NOT the W or the L.

You young fans just don't understand anything. The minute somebody loses your yr ready to dismiss them as a fake. You don't understand what makes a man truly great.

While I disagree with AJ not being great, I agree with the HW division not being that technically skilled outside of a couple of guys.

Despite people disliking this video it is correct, Anthony is the most privileged boxer in history.
