Looks cool… but the important things I'm missing are IDE-like features in the text editor. Syntax complementation, unused variables highlighting etc. Basically, all the feature Spyder editor has. I still compute data by running Python scripts on them…

i am curious how you enable the syntax color highlighting in the markdown source code block? i tried the latest Jupyterlab and it does not work for me ...
one more thing i would like jupyter to have is auto completion in the markdown source code block, i would switch to Jupyterlab right way if that works!

JupyterLab looks like a great initiative, but can it be designed to tackle data science specific problems.
I want to see my plots (generated by matplotlib) and documentation in a different window like in RStudio. Things like syntax complementation will also be a huge help.
