Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

My grandpa was so excited when he learned I had gotten a guitar for Christmas one year and he taught me dazed and confused but he was so proud, weeks later he passed away and I promised from now on I will be playing with all my heart and play as strong as I can for my grandpa...

I was in my room one night, probably 15 years ago, trying to sleep. I was suddenly awoken to the bass opening of this song. I went downstairs and there’s my dad, sitting at the dimly lit kitchen table, his amp and bass guitar plugged in playing along to Dazed and Confused. He felt like a jam session in the middle of the night. I couldn’t get mad at that. Sometimes, even when your kids are trying to sleep, you just gotta get the Led out!

I use this song to test new headphones or speakers. It’s so dynamic and unmatched!

I love how Bonzo changed the tempo of the song at 3:28. It's almost like he was like "Alright we were just fucking around the first 3 minutes, now we're gonna do this shit foreal! "

This is probably Led Zeppelin's best song. Powerful stuff.

This was the heaviest song recorded during it's time, opening a path for some seriously loud and fast hard rock and metal that was to eventually come...

Crazy how they were like 20 coming out with music of this caliber!

[Verse 1]
Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you
Lots of people talk and few of them know
Soul of a woman was created below, yeah

[Verse 2]
You hurt and abuse telling all of your lies
Run 'round, sweet baby, Lord, how they hypnotize
Sweet, little baby, I don't know where you've been
Gonna love you, baby, here I come again

[Extra Verse]
If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet a lot of gentle people there

[Verse 3]
Everyday, I work so hard bringing home my hard earned pay
Try to love you, baby, but you push me away
Don't know where you're going, only know just where you've been
Sweet little baby, I want you again

[Instrumental break 1:58-5:25]
[Guitar Solo]

[Verse 4]
Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you
Take it easy, baby, let them say what they will
Tongue wag so much when I send you the bill

The breakdown is incredible. It's all about call and response. Of course, you have Page and Plant doing their thing, but in the background, holding the groove, you can hear JPJ and Bonham doing the same thing. It's incredible, the more I listen the better this song gets.

Those were the days... Plant’s voice in all its raw, wondrous glory. What a gift that was.

May god, those drums. Scary aren't they? I mean who the hell can play like that one. One of the greatest musical creations ever recorded. Vocals, Bass, Chords, Lead, Drums all perfection down to every nuance. Everything is there for a reason. And the most mind boggling part is that it was created in 1968, yet it sounds so crisp.

Masterpiece of a hard rock song with psychedelic influences. Only Led Zeppelin can create something like that.

Why is Led Zepp the greatest rock band ever? Because Page, Plant, Bonham and JPJ are unique and incomparable. There will never be others like them!
