Patience is a virtue

Training is like a rollercoaster, full of ups and downs.

It's a journey where you must take the highs and lows in your stride.

I repeat this time and time with every single one of my clients.

Eight months ago, if you had asked me if I'd be happy with a 150kg deadlift, my answer would have been a resounding no.

At that time, I was confidently pulling 200kg.

But life threw a curveball, a severe back spasm that forced me to stop and reassess.

My focus over these past eight months shifted from lifting heavy to simply moving pain-free.

It was a challenging and humbling experience, and it still is but it taught me the value of patience and persistence.

Now, after just my second deadlift session since my injury, I'm ecstatic to be lifting 150kg. This might not be my personal best, but given the circumstances, it feels like a victory.

The key takeaway?

Patience is a virtue, and you must embrace both the good and the bad moments.

Progress isn't always linear, and setbacks are part of the journey.

Celebrate your small victories, learn from the lows, and keep moving forward and that is what is most important.
