Matt Pike Sleep Guitar Lesson w/ TAB - Sonic Titan - C Standard Tuning

In this lesson I teach you the entire rhythm section of Sleep's Sonic Titan. The song is broken down into 5 main riffs, each demonstrated and explained in full detail.

The guitar is tuned to C Standard.

The song is played in the key of C Minor and utilizes elements from the C Blues Scale (R, b3, 4, b5, 5, b7) along with a the doomy Phrygian Dominant intervals of the 3 and b2 in the outro riff.

Definitely love all the Sleep guitar lessons since I try and learn by ear for the most part. So far I’m either playing correctly or these videos show me what I’m doing wrong. Also really love the bits of theory, kinda helps me come up with my own riffs. Any chance you may do some High on Fire soon?

Great lesson ! Just wanted to ask an in general question, do you think it’s possible to mix super fuzz with heavy reverb ? Possibly it might sound great for single string slows riffs but as for chords ? Keep up the great work 🤟👍🏼

Was this piece from an actual record? This is EXACTLY the awful sound I made 43 years ago, on a cheap Japanese copy guitar and Roland fuzzbox, played through a home-made amp, when first learning guitar and trying to sound like Tony Iommi. What utter crap.
