I must say, I was not overly thrilled with the first film, but I saw this and was blown away. I realized that they were finally trying to be silly and cool, and watching Rocky Balboa, The Terminator, John McLane, and Walker Texas Ranger all kick ass in one epic action packed ending was incredible. I truly hope they now make a sequel just like this.

Wesley Snipes is supposedly EXTREMELY difficult to work with, he's a total diva that doesn't want people to do eye contact with him and he talks to people through his assistants and stuff like that.

this was one heck of a nostalgic trip for me, glad to see Arnold back, and in comparison to the first movie (which was underwhelming imo), this was what the first one should have been like - cant wait for part 3.

Funnily enough, contrary to the people you interviewed I thought the first one was pretty terrible. Seeing as practically no-one (crew wise) involved in the first was involved in this I had high hopes... and it blew them out of the water. This movie is fantastic!

They all felt like they were playing themselves, including Van Damme who's bat shit nuts! Their camaraderie felt very organic and not like they were fighting for the one-liners. The fact that it was making fun of itself (like with ...

They should put Mia Jovovich in The Expendables 3, I dare anyone to tell me she couldn't eat Liam Hemsworth alive, seriously she is probably the only female 80's style action hero and she definitely has enough on screen charisma to stand up to Stallone, Arnold, ect.

One of this film's problems when it comes to pacing as I could see what happens coming from a mile away given how fast he was introduced. His actor does sell the newbie role very well and each sniper kill is very satisfying to watch. Speaking of that, the sound design of the film is excellent, amplifying the impact of even the most basic of gunshots. It makes the guns feel very powerful and fits the tone of the film. Which sadly, as I said, seems to change early on.

You are right about the humour. These guys are very god-damned serious. In fact, the opening action sequence to this movie is one of the best I've seen in a while, not to mention how creative it is. However, the film shows it's flaws almost directly after that as the film slowly degenerates into something very different. The acting in this movie is mixed, with Arnold giving, at least to me, the weakest performance of the bunch. Jet Li is dropped at the beginning after a stunning...
