In English, verbs can be regular or irregular.

Regular verbs
Past simple and past participle of regular verbs are formed by adding –d or –ed to the end of the verb. If the verb ends in e, add the letter d to the end, as in move – moved.
He started working. (Regular verb)

Irregular verbs
Past simple and past participle of irregular verbs are not formed according to regular rules. There are no easy ways to recognize them, so each one has to be learnt.
