There’s a canyon in the American Southwest that is unmatched in its ancient history. Carved into the walls of this canyon, are the messages from the cultures who once thrived here. Recently, as winter took its hold upon this region, I hiked a new section of this canyon. I discovered a world frozen in time

We lost Andrew. But what an absolute treasury of 58 videos he is leaving us, these immortal recordings of his treks into the desert, to the tops of mountains, to ancient camping and hunting sites. When Andrew would find a canyon crammed with pictographs it was like watching a kid in a candy store. Your life was way too brief, Andrew, and your time with us, the millions who thrilled at your videos, was even briefer. Thank you. Desert Drifter died today after they took him off life support. I hope the Anasazi ancestors were waiting to greet him and answer all those questions that so intrigued him on his canyon country sojourns. Thank you so much, Andrew Cross, for a fascinating legacy, albeit one that was all too tragically cut short. Hope we meet some day in person around some slickrock corner in the next world…
