Not all VPNs work great in China, so before you pick a VPN, make sure it works in China. In my previous video as well, I suggest that you install the VPN software before you enter the country or download the software from outside the country.

I have used Astrill VPN in the past, but there are periods when Astrill sucks and doesn’t work. Typically this is when the Chinese government is campaigning against VPNs, or at what they consider to be critical events, such as the National People's Congress, but not always.

I have NordVPN as a backup. When Astrill does not work, NordVPN on the other hand works flawlessly.
The features provided by NordVPN are like - Strict no logs policy, CyberSec., DoubleVPN, Automatic Kill Switch, DNS leak protection, Onion Over VPN and much more.

It’s almost two years since I have used NordVPN and I have never come across any sort of issue. Also, their customer service is far, far better than Astrill. They are much more responsive to consumer complaints and suggestions.
So, I will never suggest anyone use Astrill VPN.
