I Traded Retro Games at EB Games & CEX - One Offer Blew My Mind!

traded in my gamecube, wiiu and the games and got almost 1k with the extra 20% trade in value. then went to coles to get a loaf of bread, a container of milk and a stick of butter and had to put an extra 2.50 on top...

CEX opened in NSW ACT and QLD about 10 years ago, I worked there for about 3.5, it's a UK company founded in 1992. When they first opened the oldest we took was XB/PS2/GC, it's nice to see them expanding and going even older.

The prices are now fairly, well, in line with Australian ebay/second hand rates. However in the early days I used to get Fire Emblem Wii and DS games for like sub $20, and heaps of GC games for less than $40. Still good shit though.

I love picking up DVDs from the local CEX, you can get some good cheap movies there. Add a bag of microwave popcorn and you're absolutely laughin' for a cheap Friday night in!
Great to see EB offering reasonably for their retro trades. We've all memed on EB offering a crisp high 5 and not much more for their trades but seems like they're really trying to get something going with retro and offering accordingly. Cool!

I’m from the UK and CEX is in all major towns and cities. It’s a bit like a UK version of EB games. Prices are a bit higher than new items but it’s quite good for older style discontinued games

EBGames.. tries to take down CEX by offering to match their trade prices. Ends up sending someone there who has never been there before.

I do a lot of my trading at CEX also. They are generally really easy to deal with and offer probably the best value in terms of the competition.

The most concerning thing is though, is that neither of the stores picked up that it was an NTSC copy and not compatible without that adapter.

How have you not been to a CEX? Thats crazy. Apparently they have been here for decades. I moved to AUS (Brisbane) 20 years ago, I have been dropping into CEX now and again for at least 15 of those. Anyway, subscribed, keep making videos.

Cex are mainly in UK and Europe. I'm from the UK so we have loads of them. Great to see in Australia in the PAL region 😊 I found a few in Lisbon last year. Great stores!
