Thousands of artists have held a protest outside Argentina's congress, where a controversial bill on economic reforms came up for debate.
They say it removes protections for consumers and workers, including those in the film industry.
Critics are calling for a national strike, to condemn the bill introduced by the new President, Javier Milei.

Al Jazeera’s Latin America Editor Lucia Newman reports from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

If your part of the working class you should not be dependent on government funding.

Film makers are supposed to be privately funded and profit making, how on earth did the government waste so much on them.

Sell Argentina's assets to American investors and problems would be over.

You can't go on indefinitely spending other people's money to prop up your failed economic model . Milei realises this. Wealth has to be created by hard work producing products that people want to buy. Not printing money.

When you are poor, live with what you have. Do not over spend.
