Alonso just decided he had a 10-second penalty to serve at that exact moment

What a season was that, Lewis-Alonso rivalries, McLaren and Ferrari Spygate scandals and Kimi's only title

Alonso’s physical coach was involved too. I remember Ron Dennis grabbing his arm and taking his radio, so he could no longer hint Alonso regarding the “strategy” 😅

This season is one of the best seasons of all time and resembles Cars 1 the most lol.

Lewis actually started it by disobeying team orders.
Also would say the most most controversial pitstop probably was Schumacher’s stop and go penalty at silverstone

Key detail here is missed that Alonso and Hamilton swapped places each qualifying session on track. Being first gave you the advantage and this time it was Alonso's turn but Hamilton disobeyed team orders anyway. So Alonso in return did the infamous pitstop which earned him the penalty and considering he finished 1 point from the championships it lost him the championship aswell

Kinda pointless to make a video about it if you dont provide the context

10 second time penalty sent to Ocons nursery

Why don't you tell everyone the reason why Alonso did that? There was a very good reason.

I feel there’s an important piece of context missing from this video

A lot of information missing in this vid. No matter which driver you support, there is much more to it.

1998 british gp michael won in the pit lane might be more contraversial

Strange, because usually the stewards will not interfere with teammatters.
There are plenty of examples.

That was one those "f×ck around and find out" kind of moments.

16 years later and they still driving together. I feel old

The thing that you didn't tell all the story and how Hamilton before sniched the extra lap from Alonso in the qualifying is a little suspicius from a non britain look...

It's the same thing all over again, Lewis deserves penalties, but never receives them and others do not deserve such penalties, but do receive them. The entire team was helping Lewis out all the time, but put his teammate out with a broken car and things like that. They were just bullying Alonso all year, while Alonso did a great job all year in explaining how the car can improve and things like that.

Sorry, but in this case whatever happens between teammates should be handled "in-house" and not by the stewarts. And the dislike between the McLaren drives was/is notorious. Whatever FA did back them, he was the villain while LH was the Teflon kid. Then again, I'm not impartial when it comes to LH44. Once again Bernie being Bernie.

Lewis had been displaying orders, impeding Alonso on track, Stewards originally didn’t give any penalty until McLaren went an complained.

Didn’t they put hard tires on Alonso, and Alonso wanted soft tires?

It's like the saying "What happens in-team, stays in-team". The Stewarts/F1/FIA need to butt out. McLaren made the decision to stack their cars. So it's the teams fault for their shortsightedness.
