Introduction to MongoDB - O'Reilly Webcast

Показать описание
MongoDB -- from "humongous" -- is an open source, non-relational, document-oriented database. The goal of the MongoDB project is to bridge the gap between key-value stores (which are fast and highly scalable) and traditional RDBMS systems (which provide rich queries and deep functionality). This talk will provide an introduction to MongoDB from one of the developers working on the project. The webcast will be accessible to those who are completely new to MongoDB and non-relational databases, but will touch on some of the advanced functionality that makes MongoDB a compelling option for all web developers.

Good intro to Mongo-DB. While it is a 3 year old preso, the concepts and architecture have not changed much.

Notice how a majority of the sentences that he speaks are ... "like this. You know, where everything has a question mark at the end of it. With an upward inflection." This speech pattern is known as High Rising Terminal. This is generally frowned upon for public speaking. Also, the audio is a bit choppy. Otherwise, material is good.

Audio drops are really frustrating.  You miss whole paragraphs of the talk.

"The entire text of War of the Worlds is about 200K" -- I'd like to know how you came to know this?

I think someone needs to work through all the comments to this video, responding with something along the lines of, "it's a freaking webcast, dude"

The buzzing and continuous breaks in audio made this unbearable...This is not a reflection on the speaker, just the deliver method.
