unmaking over my childhood tissue box bedroom

Vlog fam knows that I've been cleaning out my childhood bedroom at my parents house to help prep it to sell, and I thought it would be fun to show you the process of unmaking it over and staging it! This $0 no paint room makeover was such a trip down memory lane, and something that I was really happy that I could pull off for my parents. How do you think I did?!

Honestly I admire how a 12 yo just liked a tissue box and proceeded to base a whole room on it and actually pulled it off ... Wow, the talent has always been there

Her parents aren't actually selling their house, just wanted to make their kids finally clean up their rooms. Ha!

It's crazy how just painting over that lime green made such a huge difference.

Kelsey managed to make a tween pink room look much more mature and that's a talent. I'm not a fan of the pink walls at all, but I really think she did a great job making things look updated and cohesive without having to paint!

is anyone else just impressed by how straight those stripes are for a amateur-painted wall? the patience they must have had to tape that up..

What the heck i always wanted one of these bedrooms where you can climb out on the roof it has so much teen movie vibes😍

i know this will sound weird, but your 2004 bedroom looks literally like a 2004 bedroom should look like. the green and pink color palette, the metallic details... its almost like a set designer's idea of what an early 2000s teen bedroom looks like.

That green being gone makes such a huge difference it's insane

Oh my god. The pink/green/brown aesthetic was such a thing in the early to mid 2000s!

Okay, taking away the green did make such a difference, as did removing the silver and adding in the more current gold touches. I'd call the style "neutral girlie tween." You were a lucky girl to grow up in such a place.

The little part where you went out on the rooftop was special. It made me emotional because I know how hard it can be to say goodbye to a childhood home. You will always have the memories 💜

That roof-climb sequence hit me in the feels. Also love how you spackled the holes with cool whip

I remember when those colors were in style!! Around 2004 I painted my walls light purple, my trim lime green, and my ceiling and doors were sky blue. The ceiling was painted with a sponge to make it look like the sky. My inspiration was from a JCPenney magazine ad 😂

The vibe/feeling of sitting on the roof one last time must have been so bittersweet
