Yu Xiang (JJRC) W01-J3 3CH 505mm EPP Gyro-Stabilized Airplane RTF - Part 1: Unboxing and Assembly

I love RC ultra-micro parkflyers. They are so convenient; you can fly them almost anywhere, parks, baseball diamonds, parking lots, some of them even in your backyard. They are also relatively inexpensive and easy to store thanks to their small size. The new ones made out of EPP or EPO foams are quite resilient and almost indestructible (unless you manage to fly them into a tree or under a moving car).

I have been looking for a new 3-channel parkflyer to review for some time, since this category of RC airplanes are generally fantastic choices for newbies. I had previously reviewed WLtoys F949 Cessna 182 and Volantex RC V761-1 Mini Trainstar 3-channel airplanes and loved them as trainers:

Also, Piper J-3 Cub is one of my favorite airplanes. When I saw this 3-channel J-3 Cub clone on AliExpress, I had to order it. It cost me less than $55 shipped to my door.

In this video, I will be showing you the unboxing of this airplane and its assembly. The assembly was a bit tricky, because the instruction manual was next to useless. I hope I will have better experience with this plane’s maiden flight.
