What are your thoughts on Chase Elliott's impressive victory?

Jimmie Johnson being the man he is “Nah, those donuts are for chase”.

5:58 Jimmie's response to the burnout request shows how respectful he is

Dude JJ letting Chase take the burnout by himself is freaking cool! What a guy respect for that!

I never liked Jimmie Johnson, but it’s hard not to respect him for the driver and person he is. Congrats on a legendary NASCAR career, Jimmie. Best of luck in IndyCar.

Chase as champ, Bowman in the 48, Byron in the 24, and Larson returning in the 5. HMS is looking strong for next season already.

UPDATE: This post is aging like fine wine.

Somehow, I predicted this would happen. Chase Elliott's following in his mentor's footsteps. When they won their respective championships, They had five wins all together in the season. Both of them won two races in the regular season. Both won the round of 12 Charlotte race. Both of them won Martinsville to get to the championship four. Both of them started at the rear of the field at the championship race. And when it mattered the most, both were upfront and won the race and championship.
While this is not the greatest NASCAR championship story in history, it is still a true honest-to-god passing of the torch moment, where one champion ends his journey, and another begins to skyrocket on his own.

The torch has been passed at Hendrick Motorsports. What a season. We'll see you on February 14 for the 63rd running of the Daytona 500!

6:00 this is why JJ is a class act. Gives the moment to Chase, and does a quiet Polish Victory Lap.

I watch more dirt than nascar these days but, I just want to say JJ has to be the most underrated nascar champion ever. He's kinda quiet and layed back in appearance. Did his talking on the track and raced clean. Top 5 in his last race. He can truely say " I Did It My Way ".
And for him to tell Cliff " Nah, the doughnuts are for Chase", I mean that's classic Jimmie Johnson right there. Just a class act. Congratulations to Chase Elliot !!! He attacked that Championship.💯

Happy for Chase and Gustafson.
I don't think people realize how good Jimmie Johnson really is. He had an incredible career at a time where the sport was as competitive as it has ever been.
