Surviving Auschwitz Mengele's Twin Torture | Eva Kor | Talks at Google

Eva Kor is a survivor of the Holocaust, a forgiveness advocate, and a public speaker. Her life lesson #1 is never, ever give up. She believes anyone is capable of overcoming anything, and that forgiveness is a powerful way of self-healing.

Eva Kor and her twin sister became part of a group of children used as human guinea pigs in genetic experiments, under the direction of the now-infamous Dr. Josef Mengele. Approximately 3,000 individual twins were used in experiments. Eva became gravely ill, but through sheer determination, she stayed alive and helped Miriam survive. About 150 twins were found alive when the Soviet Army liberated Auschwitz on January 27, 1945.

I am disgusted by some of the negative comments that have been posted. If those who show disrespect are going to behave like this don't watch or read anything about Holocaust survivors if you're just going to speak heartlessly about them! All the horrible experiences these people went thorugh. Show some respect!

I saw her when I was in my younger teens and her story still sticks with me. This story can't be forgotten. God bless her and all that were and are effected.

What an extrodinary woman, to endure the killing of her family, the brutality of the concentration camps, the experiments that almost killed her, and she has the capacity and strength of character to be able to forgive her torturers. The awe, and appreciation, that I feel for this lady, Eva, is immeasurable.

1. Children can be very mean to one other particularly if they are taught to do so and rewarded accordingly.
2. We adults always try to rationalize things and rationalizing may not work always. Correct combination of rationlaization and instinct is needed.
3. Never ever give up on yourself or on your dreams.
4. Growing up is very hard
5. Prejudice - cancer of the human soul. Don't jump to any conclusion without getting to know the person.

I am a 13 year old girl from Germany and this made me find so much value in my live. I am so happy that I am living how I am living. This is the saddest thing I have ever heard. Bless this woman, she is so strong

Eva was the best of the best. The world lost an amazing human when she passed, but heaven gained an angel. I know her sisters, parents & family members were waiting to greet her. God bless.

I just finished “Surviving the Angel of Death”. It is such a good book, and it gives a lot of details in Eva’s story. I would highly recommend the book.

To those who sent their opinions of thumbs down, you should have shared the terror and experiences she suffered through. How trivial your sense of feeling must be.

With tears in my eyes, I humbly say thank you for sharing this incredible story of this brave woman. This is a very important message for the world. I believe this is the most meaningful talk I have ever had the privilege of listening to. It goes to show that one person can make a difference for good in our war torn world. Forgiveness is the key. Thanks again and please put up more videos of this caliber. Eileen Summerville

Such a wonderful person, with such valuable lessons.
Strangely there was one thing that I heard that really managed to hit me. Normally when I watch documentaries I end up thinking 'these people have gone through so much, I have no right feeling out of place in this world while these people have suffered to great extends.' and I end up feeling worse. Her words, saying that no matter where you come from, your background, your lifestyle, everyone struggles with finding their place... somehow it felt extremely encouraging.
Thank you, Eva, for giving strength to the younger generations. You really are a remarkable woman. I look up to you greatly.
