Performance Center Delivery & Journey Home in the M3 CS | 4K

Показать описание
This time last year, the M3 CS was revealed and dealers could spec their one and only allocation for the vehicle. I specced BMW of Mountain View's the way I wanted and put my name on it. I let my friend, Adam, know to reach out to Weatherford and spec his. Then we had to wait. Early in April, I chatted with Tom Plucinsky of BMW NA and told him about my idea of doing a dual (and at the time, possibly 3) deliveries of the M3 CS at the Performance Center in South Carolina. He put me in touch with the folks at BMW M NA. We still didn't have production weeks yet, but they said it would be possible.
We didn't get production weeks until late May and as luck would have it, we were one week apart (week 38 and 39). Which meant late September production and delivery possible in November (logistics permitting). That didn't happen, but we finally took delivery December 6. After a stop at Extreme Colors in Greenville, we hit the road December 9 for the journey home.
Due to scheduling conflicts, Adam had to be home by Dec 17, so we split up in Memphis. We took the long route home and got our run-in service done in Baton Rouge at Brian Harris BMW.
The journey: South Carolina to Tail of the Dragon to Atlanta to Huntsville to Memphis. We then headed to New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Amarillo, Los Alamos, Albuquerque, Monument Valley, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Death Valley, then the Performance Center West, and finally home. A little over 5,000 miles.
