My 9 year old made these for a school project last month :) we're obsessed with the Moomins so we had to make a Finnish treat even though we live in Québec, Canada. It was impossible to find prune jam so we used nectarine jam and it was delicious.

Valio makes this oven safe vanilla custard and this Christmas, I was obsessed with a mix of the apple cinnamon jam combined with that custard. SO GOOD.

Small tip for making them extra good, just get regular plum jam and regular apple jam, and mix them together in bowl or something, that way plums flavor aint that strong and its extra good

Proper Joulutorttu is made only with plum jam. Other tastes are great, but they are just torttu, not joulutorttu. :)
