Camry 2013 Steering Return Problem

Follow these steps
1. Calliberation
2. Check steering rack adjustment if it is too much tighter
3. Check ball joints on both sides if they r too stif change them
4. Check air bag clock spring. Try it from another car of same model
5. Check eps harness
6. If none of the above works then surely u need to replace steering column assembly along electric motor

Could be your steering knuckle needs to be sprayed with lube or is bad. Spray it and rotate steering wheel all the way right then left. Especially if you never had that problem before. Could be steering knuckle or tie rod or ball joint . Also, camber out of alignment

Anytime your steering wheel isn’t returning back that’s a problem with steering components tie rods atp don’t have nothing to do with it unless it’s pulling your steering rack or hydraulic or electric power steering or fluid is the root cause of steering wheel hesitation or non returning

It's unfortunate how a lot of mechanics don't Seem to find problems that need fixing on cars And instead they fix something else And making you spend more and more money

Just lubricate the front shock absorber mounting beatings..it will work for sure..

It’s might be steering wheel hub or spring issue

wheel alignment..your mechanic should have also done alignment..bad camber means it doesn't return

My car is a brand new corolla 2021 and it has the exact same problem when I start to drive it and then the problem disappears after few hundred meters. Even the Toyota dealer doesn’t seam to know the reason!!

Simple job, it is call Intermediate Steering shaft. $100 job. Once you got that, test it again. If still the same, it is your rack and pinion. Always do power steering fluid on this car, worst steering on alot of Toyota. They can be good if regularly maintain.
I notice you already sold the car, just too bad because someone have a nice car with $1200 job invested into it that can rack up miles for year to come.

1. car is good when driving
2. car is worse then dead donkey when car broken down

3. sell it and buy copious amounts of vodka...drink this all car related problems will go away
