The first engineering and manufacturing development #T7A Red Hawk advanced trainer makes its debut. The advanced trainer jet carries tails of red to honor the Tuskegee Airmen who flew red tailed P-51 Mustangs during World War II.

This first T-7A #RedHawk is scheduled to undergo ground and taxi tests before its first flight later this year and will be the first jet to be delivered to the U.S. Air Force.

The avionics on this TRAINING jet is probably better than at least 80-90% of all frontline combat aircraft currently in service worldwide.

I initially wished that the Red Tails could have been on the F-35, F-15(newest version), the F-22. However, what made the Tuskegee Airmen so good was the relentless training they had to go through to prove they would fail and they did not. There is nothing more fitting than to see the Red Tails on training aircraft because it genuinely affirms, "No excuses to success." Great decision ! ! ! !

The Tuskegee Airman Credo:
Nothing's Difficult,
Everything's a Challenge,
Through Adversity,
To the Stars,
From the Last Plane,
To the Last Bullet,
To the Last Minute,
To the Last Man,
We Fight,
We Fight,
WE FIGHT !

My Uncle was a Tuskegee Airman.

Most of them were from around Kentucky and Cincinnati, OH. I use to fix shoes back in 1994-1995 in Cincinnati, OH and one of the men use to come in to get his right shoe built up, unfortunately I can not recall his name now. He came in a few times and I asked him what happened. He said he flew the P51 in WW2 and he was dogfighting a German 109 when a cannon round came through the right side and blew off his kneecap. They fused the knee section together. I thanked him for his service, he got a little emotional and said no one had ever thanked him before. That was a sad thought, to think no one had ever thanked him.

Boeing has raised the bar for trainer aircraft with the T7. Beautiful airplane and provides a platform for our future pilots that is second to none. The connections made to the Red Tails ia also a great way to honor those brave pilots.

When I first heard of this amazing aircraft I was thrilled! A 5th generation platform incorporating all the latest technologies to train and bring our airmen back alive. An aircraft that carries the spirit of the Tuskegee Airmen within itself, the USAF will be incredibly proud!

The legacy of the Tuskegee airmen should never be forgotten
They got the respect in the air
And there should be a continued effort to honor them long after they are gone

Thank you for honoring those who served and providing inspiration for today and the future! Beautiful aircraft. Well done Boeing! (My father was a B-24 pilot in the ETO and he too would have been proud). The Red Tail is a great tribute.

Naming the T-7A after the Tuskegee Airmen is a great tribute to real American heroes. When my son did a report on the Tuskegee Airmen in high school, we researched them together. He idolized them, and I too was, and still am, in awe of what they overcame to become the premier fighting force they were.
Thank you Boeing for building such a great aircraft, named in honor of great men, the Tuskegee Airmen.

Training was probably the most challenging part of an Africa-American. This plane to be painted and named after those brave man is I’m sure the highest honor.

It'd be cool if Boeing worked to get this aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator for us folks to fly.
