This was a service call on too much frost on the walls and ceiling of the walk in freezer. I found that the door was sticking open, but I was able to also test the Evaporator limit switches while I was there.

Nice video and great info! I also check the heat trace on the drain line and make sure water isn’t backing up and refreezing in the pan

Have you checkend the possistion of the defrost sensor?
people working in kitchen often does not care if the door stays open too long, thats common knowledge.
leaking door gasket, yeah looked like it did on the frame corner.
Is there a fan stop button with delay for customer to use while working in the freezer.

Killer good stuff! Thanks! And timely is why: hotel w-i freezer, can't get the staff to keep the the door shut (creative door stops!) during their shifts and nobody can figure out where the extra ice, etc. is coming from!!....suggested/installed a couple years back a manual latch after removing the spring-loaded one and the Kason closer...did that help? Ha, next!! AND, recently found the Kline HVACR type screwdriver = what a great service idea/ tool!

About once a week I would find the commissary walk in freezer unlatched and slightly afar with the typical "snow" everywhere. Would raise a fuss with the night time supervisor but they swore they never entered the commissary after hours. Didn't believe them until one night doing inventory late the I was alone and the door just popped open.... Poltergeists?... no, the unit was in defrost and the door latch did not have a lot of tension on it. I adjusted the door latch, but think I might need to take a closer look at the dusty crusty vent thing that is up near the ceiling.

I’ve seen freezers that are not sized correct for the amount of events per hour for the freezer.
Event= trips into freezer. Causing ice and frost. Usually need a bigger evap coil in high traffic freezers. Yours looks like door issue for sure. Keep the videos coming brother👍👍

I always see the kitchen works prop the door open for long periods while stocking it, I tell them they cant do that because its adding too much moisture, they just give me a blank stare!!!

Hey do you have a Facebook and messenger app? I’d like to speak to you for a bit. I’m still trying to grasp the idea of defrost and the sequence of operation it takes. If we can discuss this together I’d appreciate it
